I wish I could be a little mouse some days to hear all what the students say at home about their day at school.
This week would of been one of them. From talking about Valentines Day and what all we will do to prepare for the special day has brought excitement to the classroom.
The puppet show was lots of fun. The laughter could be heard from down the hall to the office so even
Pastor Bob came down to see what all the excitement was about. A few friends tried out the art of being a
puppet-tier. That was hilarious!
The letter Pp sure made for a fun agenda. The memory game included a big, fat, pink pig, (Penny)
a penguin named Tacky and a parrot named Pete. Pete could not say his name but he sure could say ours! Also in box was a piece of pizza from the play kitchen and popcorn seeds. I did not think they would remember so many things since days 1 and 2 but they sure did. A happy dance concluded.
The rock and roll song, "The Three Little Pigs" was a scream! We used foam long-gated Styrofoam pieces for our guitars and moved like a true rock and roller. We also acted out the story about the three little pigs and read the story about that odd bird (a penguin) "Tacky".
Beautiful hearts were made for the hall boards to decorate for the party next week. For this project the students needed to cut out half of a folded heart then open it to see what they just made. I noticed that many students struggled with the proper hold of the scissors. Some of that is my fault for not having enough projects with using a scissors. I would appreciate your help in helping them master this skill. I will be testing them again in late March, early April so practice is necessary when it comes to proper hold of the scissors.
Well, enjoy the blog and the sunshine!
