Week #35

What an awesome time we all had at the park this week!!! The ice cream was delicious and the popsicles cooled us down on those hot days.  Thank you to all the wonderful parents that helped us transport and keep everything in order. Your help was so appreciated.
A few other things we did this week is talk a little more about the letter  Yy . Then we reviewed the letters we learned and also challenged the students on reading all the names of friends from their class. We always start circle time by doing this all together but I knew that most of them could do it on their own.  So then I was curious to see just how many actually could. This is where I decided to challenge them to do just that. They are so amazing at doing this. Some just needed a little help sounding some out but most could just look and read by memory. I feel this will be a big help at Kindergarten in a couple years. Parents from the Tue./Thurs. morning please know that we only had time for half of the class but plan on challenging the last half of the class (alphabet order) next week. Those that took the challenge but needed more time to practice will be asked to repeat the challenge again. The prize was a blow curl. If your child did or does bring one home, you will know they won the challenge.
I was blessed with Ms. Brenda's help to finish up all the testing with the students this week. Now I will work on the comments and compile the info all together to be ready to send home on the 22nd and 23rd of May. Those will be our last days of school for this school year.
Can you believe that!! Time sure does fly when you are having fun!
